It is usually composed of multiple layers of different materials. For example, the most common structure may include an outer print layer, an intermediate barrier layer, and an inner heat seal layer.

Printing layer: This layer is mainly to display product information and brand image. It can be printed with high-quality ink, has good color expression and friction resistance, and ensures that the pattern and text are clearly visible during packaging, transportation and sales. For example, the label roll film of the beverage bottle will have the brand logo, taste introduction, nutrition composition table and other contents on the printing layer.

Barrier layer: Its function is to prevent the influence of external factors on the contents of the package. According to the characteristics of the packaging product, the barrier layer can block oxygen, water vapor, light, etc. For some snack foods that are prone to oxidation and deterioration, such as potato chips, the barrier layer can effectively extend the shelf life of the product. Heat seal layer: This is a layer used for sealing during the packaging process. When the packaging roll film passes through the automatic packaging machine, the heat seal layer can be quickly bonded under a certain temperature and pressure to form a sealed package. For example, in the automatic packaging of small snacks, the heat seal layer can tightly seal the bag to prevent food leakage and external contamination.

Polyethylene (PE):PE is a common heat seal layer material. It has good flexibility, chemical resistance and heat sealing properties. Low density polyethylene (LDPE) has a soft texture and is often used to package products that require high flexibility, such as soft candy. High-density polyethylene (HDPE), on the other hand, is tougher and may be used for the packaging of heavier items or where packaging strength is required.

Polypropylene (PP):PP has high transparency and good moisture resistance. It can be used for packaging that needs to show the appearance of the product, such as some transparent nut packaging roll film. At the same time, PP has good heat resistance and is suitable for some packaging processes that require high temperature treatment, such as hot-filled beverage packaging.

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET):PET material has good mechanical properties, high strength and toughness. It also has excellent gas barrier properties, especially against carbon dioxide and oxygen. Therefore, PET is often used in the packaging film of beverages, dried foods, etc., and can well maintain the quality of the product.

Paper Class

Kraft paper: Kraft paper has high strength and toughness, and is an environmentally friendly material. It can be used for some products that are not particularly high in moisture-proof requirements, such as handmade biscuits. If it is necessary to improve the moisture resistance, the kraft paper can be coated, such as a layer of plastic film.

White cardboard: The surface of white cardboard is smooth and the printing effect is good. It is usually used for the packaging of some high-end products, such as the packaging roll film of fine chocolate. White cardboard can be compounded with other materials, such as a layer of plastic film on its inner side for heat sealing to improve the practicality of packaging.
